SBU's Sackett presents documentary work on Kinzua and the Senecas
Scott Sackett, a documentary filmmaker, public media producer and Jandoli School of Communication lecturer, co-presented his documentary work on Kinzua Dam and the Seneca Nation of Indians at the Yager Museum of Art & Culture at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, on April 11. The screening and panel discussion were hosted by Dr. Quentin Lewis, museum curator.
DeSimone to speak at WNY Women’s Leadership Summit
Dr. Kimberly DeSimone, professor and director of the master’s in Leadership program in the Jandoli School of Communication, has been invited to speak at the WNY Women’s Foundation Leadership Summit May 29.
SBU's Mackowski has busy month as presenter on the Civil War
Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor in the Jandoli School, spoke in Mobile, Alabama, earlier this month for the American Battlefield Trust, where he discussed the surrenders of the Confederacy in a program titled “From Appomattox to Citronelle and Beyond.”
Walker presents and earns Best Poster award at conference
Dr. Tara Walker, assistant professor of Communication, presented her paper titled "Complicated girls suck: A feminist autoethnography of media and outlaw emotions at the turn of the 21st century," at the national Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Conference, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in August.
Mackowski named to Gettysburg History Council
Dr. Chris Mackowski, professor in the Jandoli School of Communication, has been named an inaugural member of the Gettysburg History Council, an initiative of the Adams County (PA) Historical Society in Gettysburg.
